It seems 2020 might just be the start of Armenia’s tourism boom, with the country appearing on countless listings of hot new destinations, and the Transcaucasian Trail being named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Greatest Places. Following this trend, three European airlines – Ryanair, Wizzair and Air Baltic – have announced new cheap flights to […]
We’re happy to announce the full calendar of annual supporters’ treks in Armenia next year – including a brand new itinerary in southern Syunik, for which we (already!) have only one spot remaining! With Ryanair announcing new routes to Yerevan via Berlin, Rome and Milan, it’ll never have been easier or more affordable to sample […]
Since the early days of the Transcaucasian Trail we’ve experimented with drone mapping to further our trail-building ambitions and make our work more effective. The technology has progressed at an incredible pace since then, and now we’re very happy to announce DroneDeploy as our team in Armenia’s newest sponsor! To be more precise, they’ve arrived at Cartisan co-founder Simon’s place in Berlin, […]
TCT volunteers have one thing in common: they are all awesome! I’m amazed every summer at the diverse group of people that sign up to come do manual labor in the remote mountains of Georgia and Armenia, and how well they all get along with each other. But it makes sense when you think about […]
This is a common question, and one with a simple answer: No, you do not need any previous experience to help with the construction of the Transcaucasian Trail! In fact, most people who join the programme have never built trail before volunteering with us. It’s not experience that’s important – it’s enthusiasm! If you are willing […]
