An update for those who have been waiting for details of this year’s volunteer programme in Armenia. We have made the decision to focus on giving young Armenians the opportunity to work on the section of the TCT that will become theirs to build upon in the future.
For this reason we will not be running a formal international volunteer programme in Armenia this summer.
To anyone who has been waiting expectantly for this, we want to highlight that there are still several places left in the Georgia programme. We would encourage you to consider this for 2018 (flights are cheaper too!).
The programme for local participants in Armenia will take inspiration from the spirit of the US Conservation Corps, combining education and practical conservation skills, centred on the trail camp format and in the spirit of environmental custodianship.
Just as important as the construction of the TCT is the nurturing of a culture that will support it in the long term, and that is our underlying goal with this programme.
